The Problem:

International higher education has traditionally been reserved for only the most socioeconomically privileged youth.

This creates a cycle of inequity, especially as global perspectives are increasingly valued in the workplace.

Our Vision

Cornerstone addresses and builds the infrastructure necessary to amplify Indonesian youth — regardless of background — to their fullest potential, throughout their entire international higher education journeys.

Our vision is to equitably empower the next generation of global leaders, to be ready to return to Indonesia to create social change.

Our Plan

Mentorship: We seek to not only to prepare mentees for the college application process, but to amplify them through their unique passions and experiences.

Support: We’ve built an ecosystem of Indonesian students abroad to promote innovation and community, and to spotlight their great works abroad.

Competitiveness:
We connect our students to entry level jobs and internship opportunities with companies in Indonesia to prepare them for life after college.

Tech-Amplified:
We’ve built our own in-house software platform to centralize mentorship and leverage our Cornerstone Network to its fullest potential.

Our Tech

Centralized Mentorship

A centralized work platform our mentors and mentees leverage to maintain accountability and organization throughout the college application process.

Features:

  • A centralized calendar and task manager. This allows mentors & mentees to set key dates and view their deliverables through different time perspectives.
  • Within each “task,” mentors/mentees can engage and post comments. Everything is integrated via Google Drive.
  • On the task manager, mentees can filter by either college or various aspects of the college application process.

College Database

A comprehensive, Indonesian-focused database that Cornerstone mentees can leverage to better understand the universities that best fit their needs and interests.

Features:

  • Expansive college database of universities internationally.
  • Within each university, mentees can view “profile cards” of alumni/current students at those specific schools who are a part of the Cornerstone Network.
  • If a mentee seeks to be connected to anyone on the database, mentors are able to connect them together.

“Growing up in the rural areas of Indonesia and witnessing the nation’s educational inequities firsthand, I’ve always been driven to give a chance to those who never had one, to open the doors for those who have always found themselves confined, and to ultimately to better the many communities that have played such a significant role in my upbringing.”

This is why I choose to join Cornerstone Education.
